Boeing Strengthens With Emirates-flydubai Tie-Up

With early examples of the A380 destined to leave Emirates fleet, in tandem with the arrival of the first few 777-9s, Boeing’s dominance at the airline and the monopoly at flydubai with the Next Generation 737-800s and the new fuel efficient 737 MAX 8 fleets puts them in a good position for future campaigns.

Emirates is keen to induct its first 777-9s as quickly as possible and has not delayed or deferred deliveries as it has with a dozen or more A380s – a stark admission that the economic viability of the jet is being called into question.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Group and Chairman of flydubai instead wants to expand and expedite 777X and 737MAX deliveries between the two airlines.

Emirates and flydubai may well find space for the proposed NMA/MOM airplane within their combined operations. Boeing is set to benefit in a big way from the cohesion and integration of the two fastest growing GCC airlines.
