As of writing, the A321neo had amassed 95 firm orders from six customers against the 737MAX-9 which has 201 firm orders from one customer – Lion Air. While Pratt & Whitney and CFM International will battle it out for the A321neo engine orders, whatever the eventual market split between that airplane and the 737MAX-9, CFM International’s monopoly on the Boeing jet means that they’ll earn more revenue – and have better pricing too.
