- Boeing Eyes Rate Hike, Although Likely It Wont Materialize
- A330 Values, Lease Rates Declining Sharply
- A330neo Longevity Remains in Question
As Boeing closes in on its 600th 787 delivery, the impact of this revolutionary and game-changing airplane family on the A330 is becoming more profound.
Lease rates per month for some A330-300s is as low as $135k/month, with A330-200s going for nominally more. As the A330 world fleet continues to age and its performance degradation against the competing 787 family widens, the economic value for utilising these gas-guzzlers becomes difficult to justify.
In particular, one major leasing giant is actively looking at ways to expedite the withdrawal of the A330 from its inventory due to the poor returns that the family is generating.
