- Singapore Airlines’ 777X Selection Signals Death-Knell For Ageing A380 Fleet
- 787-10 Pushes Out Gas Guzzling A330s
- More 777X Activity Seen
With Emirates pledging its future strategy and long haul organic expansion around the 777X, dumping the A380 in the process, Singapore Airlines‘ commitment to the 777-9 effectively emulates this policy.
Airbus’ decision to cancel the A380neo, coupled with the performance constraints on the A350-1000, Singapore Airlines is poised to hand back its earliest A380s, paving the way for future 777X buys to help lower its fuel bills and complement future growth.
Equally, the ageing armada of A330s too will be handed back as 787-10s make their way into their fleet. Airbus still remains without an adequate response to either the 787-10 or 777X familes.
