Emirates Closing In On 787-9 & 787-10?

  • 787 Production Maturity / Availability Edge Over A350
  • A350 Dispatch Reliability Concerns As It Tracks Lower Than 787
  • 777X Dispenses Interest In Mythical “A350-2000”
  • 777X Orders/Options Increase To Mitigate Against Ageing A380 Fleet

Emirates has made no secret of the fact that the A350-1000 just isn’t the right airplane for them and pours further scorn on the stretched,  performance-crippled “A350-2000”.

With Airbus planning to take up to two years to get the A350-900 dispatch reliability to a fleet-wide goal of 98%, still well below that of the 787, Emirates’ CEO and Chairman His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum will have no qualms about delivering Airbus another bloody nose, two years after unceremoniously dumping both A350-900 and A350-1000.
